Gongju Multipurpose Gymnasium 공주시립 다목적체육관
공주시립 다목적체육관은 공주시 배드민턴협회의 오랜 숙원사업으로, 총 10면의 배드민턴 코트를 수용하는 체육시설이다. 비교적 크지 않고 불규칙한 대지 조건을 고려해 체육관을 두 개의 독립된 공간으로 분절하여 배치하였으며, 이를 통해 이용 인원이 적은 시간대에는 하나의 체육관만 운영함으로써 냉·난방 및 조명 에너지 사용을 합리적으로 절감할 수 있도록 계획하였다.
건물은 단정한 두 개의 매스를 기본으로 구성하고, 하부는 벽돌, 상부는 밝은 금속 패널을 적용해 주변 저층 주거지와 자연스럽게 어울리면서도 공공체육시설로서의 명확한 인지성을 확보하였다. 불필요한 장식을 배제한 절제된 입면 구성과 재료의 대비를 통해, 단아하면서도 안정적인 외관을 형성한다.
본 사업에서는 설계의도구현용역을 수행하여 시공 과정에서의 재료 및 장비 선정, 시공 방법에 대한 협의를 지속적으로 진행하였으며, 시공사의 적극적인 반영을 통해 초기 설계의도를 비교적 충실하게 구현할 수 있었다.
